THE SOLEMNITY OF ST JOSEPH
On March 13 th 2021, the Eastern Africa Province, anticipated the Solemnity of St. Joseph, Husband of Mary. The celebration took place at the Provincialate in Nairobi.
During the occasion, the province officially inaugurated the year of St. Joseph which is already being observed in the various communities. The statue of St. Joseph was ceremoniously unveiled and blessed right before the Eucharistic celebration. Sr. Josephine, the Provincial, who was also celebrating her feast day, gave a short reflection to mark the inauguration whereby she reminded the sisters and the congregants of what a treasure they have in the person of St. Joseph. She urged the sisters look up to St. Joseph in their journey towards holiness.
Fr. Robert (Servants of Mary), who presided the Eucharistic celebration expounded on some qualities of St. Joseph including; Faith, Righteousness, Obedience and Silence. He encouraged the sisters and other congregants to strive to emulate these sentiments of this silent saint. The occasion was so vibrant given the active participation of all who attended. The aspirants, postulants and novices entertained the congregants thoroughly with songs and dances that were mostly in honour of St. Joseph.
