- SEMINAR FOR TEACHERS - SOUTH INDIA DELEGATION
- Seminar for the teachers was held to make every teacher to become not only efficient but also effective. It also helps a teacher to improve and develop the craft of each mentor in school. Seminar also an opportunity for self improvement . We the teachers of Sacred Heart convent school had this opportunity on 14th November 2016. The honourable speaker for this event was Rev. Bro Paulraj. He is the part of The International Leadership Team of St Montfort Brothers of St Gabriel .
  We started the seminar with the introduction of the Founderess of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart [DSH] that is Mother Maria Theresa Nuzzo who was born on 11 th May 1851 in Valletta a city in Malta. Her parents were Paul Nuzzo and Louise Morrocchi. She was one of the lucky few who had an opportunity to become a educator as her aunt owned a school. Mother Maria Theresa became the Principal of a school at the age of 16. This post gave her the opportunity to see that a large number of people who could not educate their children due to extreme poverty. As Mother Maria Theresa was a woman endowed with charism of charity which led her to dedicate her life to serve the poor and needy. This gave her the inspiration to start the Congregation of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart.
  
  During the seminar Bro. PaulRaj emphasized the following goals:
  a. Developing the intellectual capability of the students.
  b. To have inter personal relationship, preparation for holistic life.
  
  These goals and values guide the teacher in handling the students in a smooth way. They also tell how a Sacred Heart teacher should be, how she/ he help a child in studies and teach moral values which help them to lead a better life. We the teachers of the Sacred Heart will implement these goals, principles in our teaching, as theses values are based on DSH motto We are family with a big heart. Our big heart includes everyone.
