The Daughters of the Sacred Heart started a first aid centre for the poor people ( Fisher flock) of Rochmanagar, Tamil Nadu, India, in the year 2010. Now it has grown into a Health Care Centre with many facilities like Doctors, lab, X-ray department, physiotherapy, causality etc. We, the sisters reach out to hundreds of families of nearly 25 to 30 surrounding villages.

On 14 June 2020 we had conducted an awareness programme on “Emergency Covid-19”, sponsored by the Italian Bishops’ conference/Italian Caritas. The chief medical officer was Dr.Jeyaprakash Williams MBBS. We distributed masks, sanitizers, and herbal drinks to the people of Rochmanagar. One thousand men, women and children benefited from it. Fr.Amalraj, the parish priest, Dr.Nivetha Gandhi MBBS, Dr.Shivarama Krishnan BPT, Sr.Saveria, Sr.Jude, Sr.Usha and Pethenachi took part in this camp.

A Heartfelt thanks to the Italian conference/Italian Caritas and all those who helped us to conduct this awareness programme. Through the help of the Sacred Heart we are able to serve cheerfully to all the people, whoever comes to our centre. Truly, people are satisfied and contented to come to us at any time of the day and night.
