PROFESSION CUM JUBILEE - EASTERN AFRICA PROVINCE
5th December 2020 was a special day for the Eastern Africa Province. Amidst the COVID-19 storm, with everyone clad in masks and with all prescribed precautions observed, we witnessed: first and perpetual profession of vows as well as both silver and golden jubilee of our sisters. Seven novices among them two from Uganda, pronounced their first vows. Four junior sisters among them the very first Ugandan, professed their perpetual vows.
The vows were received by our Superior General, Reverend Sr. Pauline Farrugia. Our Provincial Superior, Sr. Josephine Kangogo and her companion Sr. Juliana Muragu celebrated their silver jubilee in religious life. We were blessed in a unique way by the presence of our Superior General today. Not only did she receive vows, but she also marked her 50th year in religious life. The celebration was presided by His Lordship. Rt. Reverend Bishop Joseph Alessandro, OFM cap, the Bishop of Garissa Diocese, Kenya. In His message, he urged us all to be prophetic witnesses in a world so void of authentic prophecy. Our Superior General encouraged all the sisters to share the joy of their consecration and to enliven those that we serve. We thank God for blessing our province with vocations and we pray that we may continue to be joyful and prophetic witnesses wherever we serve.
