25 th November 2017 was a historic day for the Daughters of the Sacred Heart East Africa Region. On this day, the first two African sisters Lucy Wanjiru Mbuthia and Lucia Mwikali Mutuku celebrated their Silver Jubilee in Religious life.

Indeed it was a leap forward in the growth of the Congregation in Africa in numbers and in spirit. On the same day, one sister did perpetual vows and five novices had their first profession. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by His Excellency the Archbishop Charles Balvo, the Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya and South Sudan. Sr. Pauline Farrugia, the Superior General received the vows. We thank God for the blessings of vocations in Africa and pray for many more to come as we strive to serve his people.
