The year of the Foundress was declared on 17/04/2017 within our congregation, so as to give incentive to the sisters to delve deeper into the life and spirituality of our Foundress, Servant of God Maria Teresa Nuzzo. This was launched enthusiastically throughout the congregation and all the sisters in different parts of the world responded to this call in various ways. Some created activities based on her life, some held seminars on her life and teachings, some gave expression to her spirituality through art and so on. Malta Province organized a Eucharistic celebration on the 17/04/2018, with a sermon on the life of the Foundress.

In Mellieha, the Generalate organized a Eucharistic celebration on 28/04/2018, with a sermon on her life and writings. Sr. Leena Castelino DSH wrote a book on the spiritual life of the Foundress, titled ‘Journey of Maria Teresa Nuzzo in the footsteps of Jesus’. This book was released in the presence of his Excellency archbishop emeritus Paul Cremona, the main celebrant of the day, Fr. Joe Caruana, the archpriest of Mellieha, the Mayor of Mellieha Mr John ButegiegDSH sisters, lay associates and some invited guests. Refreshments were served to all the attendees.
